God is Moving in the Isthmus of Mexico

January 3-13, 2025

An expected move of God began in southern Mexico in 2025. The Interoceanic Church of the Isthmus of Mexico was launched following encouragement from my preaching to 8 groups of leaders in 8 key cities in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.

This is the narrowest part of Mexico, running from Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, to Salina Cruz, Oaxaca, and forming the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. It is slightly over 200 km long and provides a rail passage for freight from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico. It also forms the nexus of the 5 great empires that once ruled Mexico (Olmec, Toltec, Maya, Aztec, and Zapotec).

I reconnected with my spiritual son, Cesar Valdivieso, after 8 years and he had me preach to groups of leaders in 8 cities in 8 days. It was such a privilege to meet with these dear people and discover that God had been preparing all of us for the upcoming move. In the final meeting in Ixtapec, I spoke to a large group of devoted leaders. Little did I know how ready God had made them for His sovereign moving. I preached on the story of Esther and posed 3 questions about "such a time as this."

I reminded them of the test of the young queen's faith and asked them:

1) If Not Here, then Where?

If God was going to move, and He is, why not let it be here? Where else needs it more? Where else is God calling you to serve Him? If not here, then where?

2) If Not Now, then When?

If God is going to move, then why wait? Why not surrender our lives to Him today and let Him use us to transform our city? The challenge was to be the instruments of God's move and to do it now. If not now, then when?

3) If Not You, then Who?

Are we going to wait for someone else to be used by God to change our community? Has God not placed us where we are for such a time as this? Will we ignore His Call and Power to transform our people? If you will not do it, then who will? If not you, then who?

At the close of the meeting, I was inducted into the region's ministerial alliance. I was honored and cherish the experience and connection with these precious people. Within 3 weeks, a new movement had been launched in the isthmus. The Interoceanic Church of the Isthmus was formed in late January 2025 to host the presence of God, which would transform lives in the region.

Since January, the Interoceanic Church has held 9 Altars for prayer and consecration with 40 days of fasting to see God transform the people of the isthmus. I have experienced 2 of them. Over 1,000 people gathered on the blocked-off main street of Minatitlan to see their leaders humble themselves before God and man, repent of sin, and plead with God to change their city. It was the most powerful event I have ever experienced. I saw the gates of hell pushed back and it was a major defeat for the forces of evil.

In December, I preached at the Altar in Salina Cruz, Oaxaca. I came with the message that 2026 will be the Year of the Open Door. I was not informed in advance that The Open Door was the meeting theme. As a prophetic act, a huge door was placed behind the stage, and it was thrown open after prayer and worship. 2025 was sealed as the Year of Fire for Refinement, and 2026 was proclaimed the Year of the Open Door!

Within days, we saw 4 new groups open doors to us in Oaxaca City. One was the Department of Education for the entire state. They want to partner with us to deliver the message of Perdona (Forgiveness) to all schools in Oaxaca.

God is so good, and He is indeed opening doors!

Minatitlan, Veracruz

MAY 22-28, 2025

In May of 2025, I was invited by Pastor Cesar to return to Mexico for the 29th anniversary of his church, Ekklesia in Minatitlan, Veracruz. I have known Cesar for over 20 years, and his organization relaunched my Missioneering efforts in Mexico in January.

I preached on Friday night to the local church, Ekklesia, as part of the 29th anniversary celebration, encouraging them to recognize, receive, and release the gifts of Jesus in the Church. The message was received well. Ephesians 4 presents the gifts of Jesus, who are the members of the Church. As a symbolic gesture, we prayed and placed a bow on everyone, signifying that they were a gift from Jesus. It was goofy but fun and got the point across. I preached the next morning, concluding the message on Jesus's gifts and encouraging the church with a vision for outreach and expansion. God is bringing people back to the church who have left and is calling others to come to Him soon. On Sunday morning, I taught on John 15, explaining the imperative to be connected to the Vine. Growth (maturity) is the goal. If the branch does not bear fruit, it is cut off and burned like rubbish. If the branch bears fruit, it is pruned so it can grow even more. Pruning often seems punitive, but God uses the pain to enable us to bear more fruit. Pruning makes us valuable in Him. We must remain connected! The call is to abide in Him. We remain connected to Him through prayer. We prove to be His Disciples when we bear fruit. God is making us useful and fruitful as we remain in Him.

Sunday morning, we also baptized three people and observed the Lord’s Supper. It was a very sweet time with this congregation that has become family to me. They receive my messages and consider me a spiritual father. I am blessed to know and work with them.

The trip reached unparalleled heights on Monday night, when we gathered with around 1,200 people on a closed-off main street in Minatitlan. It was a wonderful time of praise and prayer for the Isthmus of Mexico. Led by the new group called the Interoceanic Church of the Isthmus, and including over 100 churches from Veracruz and Oaxaca. Now, over 300 churches are participating in 8 key cities. It was an amazing time of prayer and praise. It was capped with the most powerful act of humility I have seen in a long time. Five of the key pastors from all over the isthmus knelt, confessed the sin of the region and leadership, and appealed to heaven to revive their people and land. It was a victory in the heavenlies that will ripple through the isthmus, continue the movement, and ultimately transform the area. It was such a privilege to be a small part of it. They honored me with a multitude of other international guests from Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Guatemala, Cuba, and the US. This was the third such gathering, and the movement builds with each one. Six more gatherings were held in key cities of the isthmus. Each one built on the momentum of the prior acts of humility and faith. There are plans to lead a 40-day evangelistic crusade in these major cities in 2026. It was amazing to see what God has done since I was there in January, when I helped launch this movement of God in the isthmus. The Interoceanic Church of the Isthmus is alive and well, growing daily, soon to engulf the region in a flood of grace, transforming lives, churches, and communities.

On Tuesday, I spoke with the leaders of the Interoceanic Church and was honored to be made a member. I preach on Ephesians 1, praying that God would grant them the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. I preached and prayed that the eyes of their hearts would be opened to see 1) the hope of His calling, 2) the riches of His glory, and 3) the greatness of His power. This means No Doubt about who we are and what we are made to be (the hope of His calling). This is our Purpose. Paul's prayer is that there would be No Want (the riches of His glory). This is our Provision. In addition, there is No Limit (the greatness of His power). This is the unlimited power we have in Him to complete what He calls us to do. This truth is for us, too. I pray that we have No Doubt about who we are and what God has called us to do. I pray with Paul that we would have No Want. Like David in Psalm 23, we will lack nothing. The provision follows the vision. God always provides for what He calls us to do. Also, I pray that we know we have No Limits. Nothing is impossible with God. Whatever He calls us to do, we will have the power to do it. This is our promise as we move forward with what God is calling us to do. God has raised up men of humility and hunger to see their region changed by the power of the Gospel. I am in awe of what God is doing and find it incredible that He is using me to ignite fires of revival in Mexico. I never imagined that God would use me in this way. I feel this is what I was created for, and I am so grateful to the Lord for using me.

Oaxaca

December 2025

I was invited to the final Altar in December 2025, held in Salina Cruz, Oaxaca. This was the culmination of a year-long movement of God that began in early January with 100 pastors and leaders. We closed the year with over 300 churches committed to seeing the move of God transform their people, cities, region, and nation.

My Word from God for 2026 was the message I would preach at the Altar on the Pacific Ocean, attended by well over 600 people. Again, I was surprised to learn upon my arrival that the night's theme was the same as my message. This divine connection has been a hallmark of the move. Although I am miles away from these people, we are hearing the Lord say the same thing. We are hearing the same sounds coming from heaven for us.

I preach on the Word for 2026. 2025 was the year of FIRE. Text this to see if it was not your experience, too. Fire burns and consumes. It warms and cooks. In the Christian life, fire REFINES. 2025 saw us tested and tried. At times, it was a struggle to see God. He was refining us, pruning us for great growth and more fruit (John 15).

We endure the fire, and now 2026 is the Year of the Open Door. Read Revelation 3:8, which relates that He who holds the Key of David (Kingship) is the One who shuts and no one opens. He opens, and no one can shut. Look! He has set before us an Open Door that no one can shut.

An Open Door describes unfettered access. It demonstrates the ability to enter and partake of what is on the other side of the door.

Matthew 7:7 has always been somewhat of a mystery to me. I have never completely understood it. I think I have a glimpse of what it might mean. Jesus says, "Ask, and you shall receive. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you." This is how prayer works based on the promises of God. Romans 10 helps us see that "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word (rhema) of Jesus. We cannot expect answers to our prayers as presented here without having received a Word to build our faith on. For this discussion, the key is the promise of open doors. We have received the promise of the Open Door from Revelation 3. When we knock, we can expect it to open as Jesus declares.

In 2026, Doors are Opening for the people of God according to the Word of God. I am seeing it everywhere I look. God is opening doors for my business, my ministry, relationships, and so much more. In Mexico, we are seeing doors to more groups open by the week. We just had the Department of Education opened to us over night. They want to add their resources to what is doing with us. Three new pastor's groups are also wanting to partner with us in Oaxaca. The doors are open; will we have the faith to walk through them to see lives transformed and communities changed?

I invite you to partner with us in prayer. I will have more to share in the coming days as I return to Mexico in February or March 2026 to help train the leadership to train their people to share the Gospel of Forgiveness.

Luke 10 describes a harvest that is white and ready to be reaped. I believe a great harvest awaits our willingness to be used by God to lead people to Jesus in 2026. This move of God in the isthmus of Mexico will be marked by successful evangelism and powerful transformation of people's lives, as we see the promise of Isaiah 61 fulfilled in our time …

The Spirit of the Lord is upon us, because He has anointed us to preach the Gospel to the meek and downtrodden. He is sending us to heal broken hearts and proclaim liberty to captives. He is opening the doors of prisons to set free those who are bound in spirit. We are declaring the year of forgiveness of debts, deliverance from judgment, and comfort for those who mourn. Our Father is appointing beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of depression. We shall be called the trees of righteousness, planted by the Lord to be glorified in Him. We will rebuild the wastelands and rise from the former destruction. We will repair cities ravaged by sin and restore them to new glory in Christ Jesus.

Strangers will work for us, and the sons of foreigners will tend our crops and flocks. We will be called Priests of the Lord. Men will call us ministers of God. We will enjoy the spoils of victory, and we will see the glory of our God.

This is only the beginning of what God has in store for His people who walk by faith and not by sight. It is the time to rejoice and praise the name of our God. He is mighty and is opening every door to us to advance His Kingdom. The gates of hell will not stop us. The strongman has been bound, and the people of God are marching on! This is the promise for 2026!
