I was invited to return to Mexico for the 29th anniversary of the Ekklesia Church of Minatitlan, Veracruz, Mexico by Pastor Cesar Valdivieso. I have known Cesar for almost 20 years and it was his invitation in January that relaunched my Missioneering efforts in Mexico. You can read the report of the January trip below this report, dated January 3-13, 2025..
I arrived without incidence after flying from DFW to MTT via MEX. I was met by Pastor Cesar and two new friends whom I ministered with at the church. Diego and Emilio became brothers with future plans to work together in Mexico and Guatemala. Diego is a businessman and partner with Cesar in several projects in Mexico with international partners. Diego lives in Virginia but comes from Chile. Emilo is also a businessman and minister from Guatemala and has worked with a major church there as well as with Telemundo and the Guatemalan government. He, too, is very support of the ministry and will prove to be a special partner in the future. God is building a “band of brothers” to lead and support the move of God in the Isthmus of Mexico.
I preached on Friday night to the local church, Ekklesia, as part of the 29th anniversary celebration encouraging them to recognize, receive, and release the gifts of Jesus in the Church. The message was received well. Ephesians 4 presents the gifts of Jesus who are the members of the Church. As a symbolic gesture, we prayed and put a bow on everyone as a sign of being a gift of Jesus. It was goofy but fun and got the point across. I preached the next morning, completing the message on the gifts of Jesus, encouraging the church with a vision for outreach and expansion. God is bringing people back to the church who have left and is calling others to come to Him soon. Sunday morning, I taught on John 15, explaining the imperative of being connected to the Vine. Growth (maturity) is the goal. If the branch does not bear fruit, it is cut off and burned like rubbish. If the branch bears fruit, it is pruned so it can grow even more. Pruning often feels punitive, but God uses the pain to enable us to bear more fruit. Pruning makes us useful in Him. We must remain connected! The call is to abide Him. We remain connecting Him through prayer. We prove to be His Disciples when we bear fruit. God is making us useful and fruitful as we remain in Him.
Sunday morning, we also baptized three people and observed the Lord’s Supper. It was a very sweet time with this congregation that has become family to me. They receive my messages and consider me a spiritual father. I am blessed to know and work with them.
The trip rose to unparalleled heights on Monday night when we gathered with around 1200 people on a blocked-off street of Minatitlan. It was a wonderful time of praise and prayer for the Isthmus of Mexico. Led by the new group called the Interoceanic Church of the Isthmus, and including over 100 churches from Veracruz and Oaxaca. It was an amazing time of prayer and praise. It was capped with the most powerful act of humility I have seen in a long time. Five of the key pastors from all over the isthmus, knelt, confessed the sin of the region and leadership, and appealed to heaven to revive their people and land. It was victory in the heavenlies that will ripple through the isthmus, continue the movement, and ultimately transform the area. It was such a privilege to be a small part. They honored me with a multitude of other international guests from Argentina, Columbia, Chile, Guatemala, Cuba, and the US. This was the third such gathering and the movement builds with each one. Five more are planned for key cities of the isthmus with plans to lead an evangelistic crusade in these major cities for 40 days late this year or in early 2026. It was amazing to see what God has done since I was there in January and help launch this movement of God in the isthmus. The Interoceanic Church of the Isthmus is alive and well and growing daily, soon to engulf the region like a flood of grace to transform lives, churches, and communities.
On Tuesday, I spoke to the leaders of the Interoceanic Church and was honored as a member. I preach on Ephesians 1, praying that God would grant them the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. I preached and prayed that the eyes of their hearts would be opened to see 1) the hope of His calling, 2) the riches of His glory, and 3) the greatness of His power. This means No Doubt about who we are and what we are made to be (the hope of His calling). This is our Purpose. Paul's prayer is that there would be No Want (the riches of His glory). This is our Provision. In addition, there is No Limit (the greatness of His power). This is the unlimited power we have in Him to complete what He calls us to do. This truth is for us, too. I pray that we have No Doubt about who we are and what God has called us to do. I pray with Paul that we would have No Want. Like David in Psalm 23, we will lack nothing. The provision follows the vision. God always provides for what He calls us to do. Also, I pray that we know we have No Limits. Nothing is impossible with God. Whatever He calls us to do, we will have the power to do it. This is our promise as we move forward with what God is calling us to do. God has raised up men of humility and hunger to see their region changed by the power of the Gospel. I am in awe of what God is doing and find it incredible that He is using me to ignite fires of revival in Mexico. I never imagined that God would use me in this way. I feel this is what I was created for and am so grateful to the Lord for using me. I have been invited to return in July to assist with training of the leaders for transforming the region. God is so good.
In January, I went to Mexico on my “visions tour” to discover what God was calling me to do. In late November of 2024, I went to Florida to meet with Charles Carrin to receive His impartation for my future. I traveled to Costa Rica in December of 2024 to meet with the two couples with whom I had worked before. The meetings were important for encouragement and closure, but working with them again is not what I was called to do. The week in Mexico in January 2025 was unexpected in it’s magnitude but desired in its significance for my life. The connection I have with Cesar is divine. We finished one another’s sentences when it comes to the vision. His honor of me and his desire for me to work with him is heartening. We are truly brothers in the mission. I can see myself working with these people for a long time as God has given vision for establishing a printshop and school for training the next generation to reach the world with the Gospel from Mexico.
The vision was confirmed and the mission affirmed. The question arises: “Where do we go from here?” This interrogative presents opportunity and obligation. The opportunity to return to Mexico regularly is obvious and the invitations ready. The obligation is to care for Michelle, my wife, as she deserves. Presently, the ministry is funding the trips and supporting us as it can, but each additional trip requires funding, it takes me away from other work I would be doing for pay of I was not traveling. It is difficult to work remotely on these trips because of the schedule and weak technology structure. Your prayers and support are requested to enable me to continue to go as a missioner.
God has confirmed the call and is affirming the mission. In Him there is No Doubt that we are called. We know who we are and what we were made to do. In Him there is No Want. What He calls us to do He will provide for. The Lord is our Shepherd! We shall not Want! There is No Limit! We can do all things through the Anointed One and His anointing! Thank you for being a part of what God is doing. Thank you for your prayers and support.
God is raising up the Church of the Isthmus of Mexico. From Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, to Salina Cruz, Oaxaca is the narrowest part of Mexico called the isthmus. It is less than 300 km long and a train can carry freight through it in less than six hours. It is forms the nexus of the great empires that once ruled Mexico. The Mexican government is establishing four large commercial zones to promote manufacturing and trade in the area with the world. The world is coming to the isthmus of Mexico and soon Mexico will no longer remain under the shadow of the US.
I had the privilege to speak to over 100 leaders of the churches and government of the isthmus in cities like Minatitlan, Coatzacoalcos, Ixtipec, Juchitan, Matias Romero, Tehuantepec, and Puerto Angel in Veracruz and Oaxaca, Mexico. The reception was so overwhelming that I was commissioned as a leader in the Church of the Isthmus by the spiritual leaders of the isthmus. I was adopted as one of their own and I carry that honor close to my heart.
Since my visit to the isthmus of Tehuantapec, the momentum that that spark in January is building to impacting proportions. Nearly 500 people gathering in Oaxaca to worship and pray for the people of the isthmus and the transformation of the economy and everyday life of the people. A flood of positive power and action is building to cover this precious part of Mexico.
I plan to return to Veracruz and meet with hundreds of leaders of churches, businesses, and government agencies to spur on the movement flooding the communities in the isthmus of Mexico to transform lives, communities, and the nation.
