God is raising up the Church of the Isthmus of Mexico. From Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, to Salina Cruz, Oaxaca, is the narrowest part of Mexico called the isthmus. The isthmus is less than 300 km long and can carry freight by train from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico in less than six hours. It forms the nexus of the great empires that once ruled Mexico (Olmec, Toltec, Maya, Aztec). The Mexican government is establishing four large commercial zones to promote manufacturing and trade in the area with the world. The world is coming to the isthmus of Mexico, and soon Mexico will no longer remain under the shadow of the US.
I had the privilege to speak to over 100 leaders of the churches and government of the isthmus in cities like Minatitlan, Coatzacoalcos, Ixtipec, Juchitan, Matias Romero, Tehuantepec, and Puerto Angel in Veracruz and Oaxaca, Mexico. The reception was so overwhelming that I was commissioned as a leader in the Church of the Isthmus by the spiritual leaders of the isthmus. I was adopted as one of their own and I carry that honor close to my heart.
Since my visit to the isthmus of Tehuantapec, the momentum that that spark in January is building to impacting proportions. Nearly 500 people gathering in Oaxaca to worship and pray for the people of the isthmus and the transformation of the economy and everyday life of the people. A flood of positive power and action is building to cover this precious part of Mexico.
I plan to return to Veracruz and meet with hundreds of leaders of churches, businesses, and government agencies to spur on the movement flooding the communities in the isthmus of Mexico to transform lives, communities, and the nation.
I was invited by Pastor Cesar Valdivieso to return to Mexico for the 29th anniversary of the Ekklesia Church of Minatitlan, Veracruz, Mexico. I have known Cesar for almost 20 years, and it was his invitation in January that relaunched my Missioneering efforts in Mexico. You can read the report of the January trip below, dated January 3-13, 2025.
I arrived without incident after flying from DFW to MTT via MEX. I was met by Pastor Cesar and two new friends with whom I ministered at the church. Diego and Emilio became brothers with plans to work together in Mexico and Guatemala. Diego is a businessman and partner with Cesar in several projects in Mexico with international partners. Diego lives in Virginia but comes from Chile. Emilo is also a businessman and minister from Guatemala and has worked with a major church there as well as with Telemundo and the Guatemalan government. He, too, is very supportive of the ministry and will prove to be a special partner in the future. God is building a “band of brothers” to lead and support the move of God in the Isthmus of Mexico.
I preached on Friday night to the local church, Ekklesia, as part of the 29th anniversary celebration, encouraging them to recognize, receive, and release the gifts of Jesus in the Church. The message was received well. Ephesians 4 presents the gifts of Jesus, who are the members of the Church. As a symbolic gesture, we prayed and put a bow on everyone as a sign of being a gift from Jesus. It was goofy but fun and got the point across. I preached the next morning, completing the message on the gifts of Jesus, encouraging the church with a vision for outreach and expansion. God is bringing people back to the church who have left and is calling others to come to Him soon. Sunday morning, I taught on John 15, explaining the imperative of being connected to the Vine. Growth (maturity) is the goal. If the branch does not bear fruit, it is cut off and burned like rubbish. If the branch bears fruit, it is pruned so it can grow even more. Pruning often feels punitive, but God uses the pain to enable us to bear more fruit. Pruning makes us valuable in Him. We must remain connected! The call is to abide in Him. We remain connected to Him through prayer. We prove to be His Disciples when we bear fruit. God is making us useful and fruitful as we remain in Him.
Sunday morning, we also baptized three people and observed the Lord’s Supper. It was a very sweet time with this congregation that has become family to me. They receive my messages and consider me a spiritual father. I am blessed to know and work with them.
The trip rose to unparalleled heights on Monday night when we gathered with around 1200 people on a blocked-off street of Minatitlan. It was a wonderful time of praise and prayer for the Isthmus of Mexico. Led by the new group called the Interoceanic Church of the Isthmus, and including over 100 churches from Veracruz and Oaxaca. It was an amazing time of prayer and praise. It was capped with the most powerful act of humility I have seen in a long time. Five of the key pastors from all over the isthmus knelt, confessed the sin of the region and leadership, and appealed to heaven to revive their people and land. It was a victory in the heavenlies that will ripple through the isthmus, continue the movement, and ultimately transform the area. It was such a privilege to be a small part. They honored me with a multitude of other international guests from Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Guatemala, Cuba, and the US. This was the third such gathering, and the movement builds with each one. Five more are planned for key cities of the isthmus with plans to lead an evangelistic crusade in these major cities for 40 days late this year or in early 2026. It was amazing to see what God has done since I was there in January and helped launch this movement of God in the isthmus. The Interoceanic Church of the Isthmus is alive and well and growing daily, soon to engulf the region like a flood of grace to transform lives, churches, and communities.
On Tuesday, I spoke to the leaders of the Interoceanic Church and was honored as a member. I preach on Ephesians 1, praying that God would grant them the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. I preached and prayed that the eyes of their hearts would be opened to see 1) the hope of His calling, 2) the riches of His glory, and 3) the greatness of His power. This means No Doubt about who we are and what we are made to be (the hope of His calling). This is our Purpose. Paul's prayer is that there would be No Want (the riches of His glory). This is our Provision. In addition, there is No Limit (the greatness of His power). This is the unlimited power we have in Him to complete what He calls us to do. This truth is for us, too. I pray that we have No Doubt about who we are and what God has called us to do. I pray with Paul that we would have No Want. Like David in Psalm 23, we will lack nothing. The provision follows the vision. God always provides for what He calls us to do. Also, I pray that we know we have No Limits. Nothing is impossible with God. Whatever He calls us to do, we will have the power to do it. This is our promise as we move forward with what God is calling us to do. God has raised up men of humility and hunger to see their region changed by the power of the Gospel. I am in awe of what God is doing and find it incredible that He is using me to ignite fires of revival in Mexico. I never imagined that God would use me in this way. I feel this is what I was created for, and I am so grateful to the Lord for using me. I have been invited to return in July to assist with training the leaders for transforming the region. God is so good.
In January, I went to Mexico on my “visions tour” to discover what God was calling me to do. In late November of 2024, I went to Florida to meet with Charles Carrin to receive His impartation for my future. I traveled to Costa Rica in December of 2024 to meet with the two couples with whom I had worked before. The meetings were important for encouragement and closure, but working with them again is not what I was called to do. The week in Mexico in January 2025 was unexpected in its magnitude but desired in its significance for my life. The connection I have with Cesar is divine. We finished one another’s sentences when it comes to the vision. His honor of me and his desire for me to work with him is heartening. We are truly brothers in the mission. I can see myself working with these people for a long time, as God has given me a vision for establishing a printshop and school for training the next generation to reach the world with the Gospel from Mexico.
The vision was confirmed and the mission affirmed. The question arises: “Where do we go from here?” This interrogative presents opportunity and obligation. The opportunity to return to Mexico regularly is obvious, and the invitations are ready. The obligation is to care for Michelle, my wife, as she deserves. Presently, the ministry is funding the trips and supporting us as it can, but each additional trip requires funding. It takes me away from other work I would be doing for pay if I were not traveling. It is difficult to work remotely on these trips because of the schedule and weak technology structure. Your prayers and support are requested to enable me to continue to go as a missioner.
God has confirmed the call and is affirming the mission. In Him, there is No Doubt that we are called. We know who we are and what we were made to do. In Him, there is No Want. What He calls us to do, He will provide for. The Lord is our Shepherd! We shall not Want! There is No Limit! We can do all things through the Anointed One and His anointing! Thank you for being a part of what God is doing. Thank you for your prayers and support.

“Behold, the former things have come to pass, And new things I declare; Before they spring forth, I tell you of them.” (Isaiah 42:9)
The year 2024 is coming to a close. For some, it cannot end too soon. I thought 2024 would be the year of extraordinary usefulness, but it was anything but that in my mind. This year saw the death of a dream for me.
After my father's passing, I heard the Lord give me the freedom to re-engage in missions. I had been completely absorbed in work outside the US for over ten years when the Lord arrested me to work with my father. Serving my father was a joy I thought I would not have again after we pastored together some years ago. For nearly ten years, I worked with my father and believed it was my destiny. It was for the time.
I launched a new organization called Dimensions in Kingdom Living in late 2021 and proceeded to raise $175,000 to establish a Print Shop for the Works and Missions Baptist Church in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. It was not to be, and we had to cancel the project in January of 2024. It would not happen as I dreamed.
It was a gut punch to my system and took several months for me to recover emotionally. It caused me to question everything about what I thought God wanted me to do. As always with God, it served the valuable purpose of humbling me and realigning me to God's will.
God has been so faithful to wait on me. At the Spirit's prompting, I made two Vision Trips in November and December. The first was to spend time with Charles Carrin, a dear friend of my father and a spiritual father to me. It was a fabulous time of sharing and impartation, and I believe set the foundation for my moving forward to discover God's plans for me in 2025.
I also traveled to Costa Rica to meet with two couples with whom I had been very involved with in providing safe water for over 300,000 people in Guatemala and Mexico. Again, only God can arrange such connections and gatherings. We picked up where we left off and inspired and encouraged one another to seek God's will. The specifics of our working together have not been completely defined but the foundation was re-established for collaboration.
While in Costa Rica, the Lord began to define His Calling for me. I am more confident than ever of His hand on my life and His plans for me. I thank you for your prayer and support and ask that you would continue to pray and support as you can.
My scripture for 2025 is Isaiah 42:9:
“Behold, the former things have come to pass, And new things I declare; Before they spring forth, I tell you of them.”
Things have happened in 2024; not all of them appeared positive. Those things are done. The past has passed. All the losses and failures, shattered dreams, and seeminglu negative things are over, finished, kaput. We will leave the past in the past.
God is declaring a fresh start, a new beginning. God speaks things into existence. He will reveal them in His time. Faith sees first (Heb. 12).
In 2025, the losses of 2024 will be wins. The failures of 2024 will be successes in 2025. Wounds will be healed; lives will be changed. Dreams will come true!
The first sermon of Jesus came from His reading of Isaiah 61:1-7. He announced His fulfillment of this prophecy. The Spirit of the Lord was on Him to preach good news to the poor, health to the brokenhearted, liberty to captives, release from prison for the bound, the Year of Jubilee (restoration), the Day of Judgment of God, comfort and consolation to those who mourn, beauty for ashes, the oil of joy, and the garment of praise for the spirit of depression. He declared His followers would be the planting of the Lord, as He rebuilds ruins and raises up places of desolation. Enemies will serve the people of God, and they will be the priests of the Lord and His servants. The wealth of the wicked will be given to His people and they will be clothed with glory instead of shame with double honor. Rejoicing will replace confusion for the prosperity and everlasting joy!
The yoke of bondage will be broken in 2025 for those who believe (Isaiah 10:27). The anointing of the Holy Spirit (oil) will remove the control of anything not of God from our lives. Education will take the form of impartation as knowledge will become wisdom and real-world applications will transform lives, communities, and nations.
2025 will be a year of freedom and prosperity, especially for those who have endured setbacks, losses, and failures in 2024.
I pray that you will see the new things of God in your life and that His preparation of hardship has equipped you to be an instrument of His grace to advance the Kingdom and bring Him glory!
One more thought for 2025 …
In 2025, God desires that you see yourself the way He sees you.
We read in Genesis of Adam's sin. One of the things that sin did was blind Adam to who he was. When God came walking in the Garden in the cool of the day (Gen. 3), looking for the man and woman, they hid themselves. They confessed they felt shame and saw themselves as naked.
God asked, "Who told you you were naked?" Up to the time, Eve and Adam were completely happy wearing nothing but the natural covering God created them with. Sin blinded them. They no longer saw themselves the way God saw them. They now saw themselves through the lens of shame and regret.
God did not see them in this light. God never stop seeing them as His children. His love never faltered and His desire to commune with them was never in doubt. They saw differently, not Him. They no longer saw themselves as God saw them.
See the Lost Son (Prodigal) as he longs to eat the slop of the pigs and remembers his father's house. He may never have seen himself as his father saw him, but at this moment, he definitely does not see as his father did. He thinks he can return and be an employee in his father's business. He no longer feels he deserves his former place as a son in the family.
On his return, the father sets all thing back in order. He runs to his son, the one who was dead and is now alive. He restores him to his place as son with a robe and shoes and a signet ring of honor. His father never stopped seeing him as his son. Even though he wanders away, the father never stopped loving him as his son. He never ceased to see him as his beloved.
Sin affects our vision. We cannot see as God sees because of sin. Jesus restored sight to the blind and His atonement for our sin gives us vision to see as God sees. The first thing we need to see is how God sees us. Living in this sin saturated world, we are prone to see through flawed lenses. Sin imposes shame and guilt on our vision. It fills are eyes with regret so we cannot see the truth. The father of lies blinds us through his reasoning deception and we cannot see properly. Jesus gives sight to the blind. He gives revelation!
My prayer for 2025 is that everyone would see themselves as God sees them.
God is our loving heavenly Father who sees all and knows all. His creation is His passion. When He looks on a person, He sees His Son Jesus. He loves with perfect compassion and desires to fellowship with all of His family. His lover never wavers. Sin cannot thwart the love of God. Mercy overcomes judgment. Love triumphs over disobedience. God sees you as forgiven and whole and righteous.
We are His New Creation (2 Cor. 5), restored to the very righteousness of God in Christ. He reconciled us to Himself in Christ and has given us the Word and Ministry of Reconciliation. We are His Ambassadors in Christ. To accomplish the Calling of God on our lives we must see ourselves as He sees us. We are being transformed by His Word to do His Will.
In 2025, see yourself as the Father in Heaven sees you. Walk in the glory of His righteousness and do not let sin cloud your vision.
